The GRT Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (GRT IPER), affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and approved by Pharmacy Council of India, has established a comprehensive set of Rules and regulations aimed at fostering a respectful and productive academic environment. Here's an overview of the key policies:
The following are the general rules and regulation of GRTIPER
- If any Student, after admission, leaves the college under any circumstances, have to pay the college fees for the remaining period of the whole course as per rules of DME, Govt. of Tamil Nadu & the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University shall be followed as and when such situations arise.
- All students should reach the classroom on time and shall not leave the class without the permission of the teacher.
All students are required to strictly follow the college timings. They should be in the college campus during the college working hours.
- Students should maintain discipline, dignity and decorum in the college premises.
- Students should wear identity cards inside the campus including departments, class rooms and library and also when attending any meetings outside the campus.
- Use of Mobile phones are strictly banned in the Class & Labs. If any student is found in possession of phone, it will be confiscated immediately.
- Ragging, teasing, chewing tobacco or gutka or pan masala, smoking, drinking alcohol and other unhealthy practices are strictly prohibited. If any student is found guilty, they will be punished and penalised accordingly.
- Ragging is considered a serious punishable offence by the authorities. Any student who faces any problem in this regard can complain to the anti-ragging committee of the institute headed by the Principal.
- Students should not associate with any groups inside or outside the college and should not engage in any group activities that are against the interest and reputation of the college.
- Student should be dressed neatly and properly as per the dress code specified by the authorities.
- All students are required to appear in all internal assessments/class tests/periodic tests conducted by College positively as per academic calendar.
- Students are expected to keep the class rooms and college premises neat and clean
- Participation in intercollegiate programmes, within the city or outside, is subject to permission of the Principal.
- Laboratory breakages, loss of books and damage to furniture etc., shall be charged to the candidate concerned.
- Students must conserve electricity and water. They must switch off lights & fans when they leave the classroom, laboratories etc.
- Students can participate in various extracurricular activities like Sports and Games, NSS etc.,
- Inform the college authorities any change in personal details like mobile number, email id or postal address immediately. Any change in personal details or address or mobile number will be accepted in prescribed format only.
- Any student found to violate any of the rules and regulations of the college or found disturbing the peace in campus as well as off campus will be prosecuted by the Head of Institution, reserving the right to suspend and /or dismiss the student without any prior explanation.
Uniform
- All students should strictly follow the dress code framed by the college.
- Boy's students should wear full trousers and full sleeve shirt tucked in with belt and black shoes.
- Students should wear the uniform in a neat and professional way.
- Students not adhering to dress code will not be permitted to attend the classes.
- Students will not be entertained in the college premises for any requirement without proper dress code during working hours.
Dressing rules for students (Female)
- Students must wear Uniform and White coat. (They must wear clean and washed Uniform. Unclean and unwashed Uniform will be the source of cross infection).
- Dupattas of Chudidhars should not be flowing.
- Hair should not be left loose, but should be well groomed, oiled and put up.
- Shoes (black Leather shoes) which cover toes are to be worn
Dressing rules for students (Male)
- Shirt must be inserted and the first button of shirt must not be left open. Length of pants must be above heel.
- Face must be neatly shaven and hair be groomed well, preferably oiled.
Attendance
- Punctuality and Regularity in attendance (theory and practical classes) is compulsory.
- Every student has to secure 80% of attendance in theory and practical classes separately in each subject to appear for examinations. Students found short of attendance will not be permitted to appear for university examinations.
- Monthly attendance of the student will be monitored and any student found with less than 75% attendance will be fined
- Students appearing for supplementary examinations will be granted attendance only for the days of their respective examination.
- Students attending Seminars/Cultural competitions will be granted attendance only for that particular day.
- Leave application with valid reasons should be submitted to the concerned class in charge.
